Creating Opportunity...

One Household At A Time.

Volunteers are vital to the work of Interfaith Housing Services and helping hands are critical to our mission of serving low and moderate-income households in our communities. Since our inception, caring people have come from all across the country to help us address housing issues in the community.

Part of the beauty of volunteer labor is that it allows us to keep costs low, however finding adequate housing for these regular groups is difficult and if extra costs are incurred in housing them, part of their purpose is defeated. This challenge has given birth to a new opportunity! We acquired a house at 715 E. Ave. B in Hutchinson and are rehabilitating it for housing these valuable groups.

With the help of our community, we are turning this house into something special and anticipate bringing thousands of hours of volunteer labor to our community, allowing for the support of Interfaith Housing Services’ mission as well as that of other organizations in our communities.

To complete this project we are in need of gently used or new refrigerator, a stove, single and bunk beds, couches/living room set, dressers, large dining room table and chairs, and a washer and dryer. Please contact Emily Hurst at 620-662-8370 for additional information.

A Special Thank you to Decker & Mattison, Commerce Bank, Connie & Steve Dillon, and J&J Drainage for their sponsorship of this project!

If you are interested in sponsoring a room or donating an item listed above, please contact
Emily Hurst at 620-662-8370.
