TAX CREDIT DONATIONS

Kansas tax credits are a way to substantially reduce the cost of making a donation to a charitable cause. For example, a business donor making a $1,000 charitable donation receives a $500 Kansas tax credit. This reduces the donor's state income tax liability by $500. In addition, the donor receives federal tax benefits that vary with the donor's effective tax bracket and other individual factors.

Interfaith Housing Services was awarded a grant by the Kansas Department of Commerce for State Tax Credits. In exchange for donations made to IHS, donors receive a 50% Kansas Tax Credit. This means that 50% of your donation is just like writing a check to the State of Kansas for your yearly income tax obligations.

All proceeds of this grant go to fund Individual Development Accounts (IDA) that serve as an incentive for low-income individuals to save money giving them a tool to help break the bonds of poverty. You can help us attain that goal by making a donation of $250 or more to the IDA Program.
