The Hutchinson Builders Association together with
Interfaith Housing Services is proud to announce the
first Housing With A Heart project in Reno County.
Thirty-one local contractors and area vendors are donating time,
energy, expertise and materials to build a home for Penny Dodge and
her two sons. Interfaith Housing Services is raising $25,000 for the
project and coordinating volunteers to work with the professional
contractors.
Penny's husband was killed in a construction accident when her sons
were toddlers; she is raising her boys, who are now teenagers, working
in Housekeeping at the Holiday Inn Express in Hutchinson. In 2006
their home was destroyed by fire and while they currently rent from
Interfaith Housing, Penny continues making monthly mortgage payments
on the property. This is a very deserving family and the HBA and IHS
are pleased to have this opportunity to help them with their housing
needs.
