After what seemed like an endless winter
with cold gusty north winds just a few days before, Monday,
April 21, 2008 turned out to be an absolutely perfect day
for the thirty-five golfers who hit the links at 7:00 AM to
spend the day knocking that little white ball around
Cottonwood Hills Golf Club.
The
morning started early when IHS staff and volunteers
began setting up for the
day. Signs were posted around the
course explaining "who we are and what we do." These
testimonials from our clients hopefully provided inspiration
to our golfers as the day grew long and they became tired.

Thanks to Brett Mattison, special moments in IHS 100 golfing
history are preserved forever on video.
Thanks
to Hap Walters golfers had refreshments right on the course
without having to break away from play.
Post play inventory revealed that evidently Snickers really
do satisfy; certainly more than the healthier granola bars.
Drives
went astray. Balls were lost. Putts were missed. Putts were
made. And 2142 holes were played while golfers, volunteers and staff had a
great time raising over $35,000 to help guarantee that
IHS continues providing affordable housing for low income
residents of Reno and Harper Counties.
Thank you all for your support.
