VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ON SPECIAL PROJECTS

One of the IHS special projects that utilized a number of volunteers was the remodeling done on the home of First Time Home Owner, Doug Rice. Doug's home was completely gutted and remodeled making it handicapped accessible. The hard work of volunteers was truly a blessing to Doug and one that he greatly appreciates.

Mr. John Scott
Interfaith Housing Services
PO Box 1992
Hutchinson, KS 67504-1992Dear John:

Dear John,

I just wanted to write and say thank you for all you have done to help me with my house.  Becoming a homeowner has helped me to develop self confidence, and has made me feel like an asset to the community.  Some people might not understand this, but I take pride in paying my property taxes!  It is hard to explain the satisfaction I feel in homeownership and being able to work to keep my house up and functional day by day.  I really appreciate having a home that is totally accessible.  Interfaith Housing Services has certainly met my housing needs.  Please let the staff, volunteers that helped, and the IHS Board of Directors know how much their efforts mean to me.

Sincerely,

Doug Rice
